Join Newburgh YouthBuild

At NBYB, students:

  • Work toward their High School Equivalency (GED)

  • Earn industry-recognized certifications in construction, healthcare, and more

  • Gain hands-on experience through worksite training projects and our on-site workshop

  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills

  • Give back through community service projects

Our program equips young adults with the education, skills, and real-world experience needed for full-time jobs with sustainable wages—while empowering them to become leaders in their communities.

Application Process

There are five steps to joining Newburgh YouthBuild. Each one must be completed to be considered:

Step 1 – Application
Stop by our campus to receive an application form.

Step 2 – Intake Interview

After you apply, our case manager will reach out to schedule an intake interview. This is a chance for us to learn more about you—your needs, goals, and future plans.

Step 3 – Assessment
Take a short reading and math assessment so we can understand how best to support you in achieving your GED.

Step 4 – Info Session
Attend an information session to meet the staff, learn more about the program, and ask any questions before starting Mental Toughness.

Step 5 – Mental Toughness Orientation
Complete a two-week unpaid Mental Toughness Orientation. This period allows both staff and participants to decide if the program is the right fit, while testing commitment, teamwork, and readiness for the challenges ahead.

At the end of Step 5, final participants will be chosen to officially enroll in Newburgh YouthBuild.
